About the role
We are looking for a Senior Data Architect & Engineer to evolve and scale Nuitée’s data platform. You’ll own high-volume data pipelines that ingest, normalize, and serve global hotel inventory, pricing, availability, and transaction data.

This is a hands-on architecture and implementation role, working within an existing data organization that includes data analysts and data scientists. The core mandate is to evaluate the current platform architecture ( Google Big Query), strengthen data modeling & data quality foundations, and establish scalable patterns for reusable data products across business domains to power reporting, analytics, data science and partner-facing use cases.

You will start as an individual contributor, working hands-on across the platform — from ingestion pipelines to semantic layers — and will progressively build and lead a data engineering team as Nuitée scales.

Job Requirements

Our ideal candidate
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Hands-on data platform builder with the architectural vision to scale

6+ years in data engineering / data architecture in fast-scaling and fast-paced environments.

Ability to ship fast – we deliver in hours and days, not quarters

SQL modeling + dbt or equivalent semantic modeling experience.

Distributed data pipelines and orchestration experience.

Experience tuning and scaling BigQuery or cloud warehouses.

Solid grounding in data quality frameworks, lineage and observability

Strong communication – comfortable challenging assumptions, explaining trade-offs, and guiding others toward best practices.

Nice to Have

Experience in B2B platforms, marketplaces, or travel distribution datasets .

Hands-on experience with Databricks, dbt, Airflow, MySQL, MongoDB

Job Responsibilities

Platform architecture & tooling
Review, challenge and evolve the Nuitee data platform architecture, from data ingestions to exposure to consumers
Stand up tooling for lineage, cataloging, data quality, observability, and cost control.
Data Architecture & Pipelines
Review, challenge and evolve the Nuitee data model and transformations.
Create clear modeling standards across layers (raw → clean → semantic layer).
Design and maintain ingestion + transformation pipelines from source systems to semantic layer
Data Quality & Governance
Ensure end-to-end lineage is captured and explorable.
Implement automated testing, observability, cost monitoring, and performance tuning.
Ensure that data pipelines are scalable, maintainable, and well-documented.
Collaboration & Enablement
Partner with technology and business stakeholders to develop deep source understanding: map business processes to source tables/collections, events, and fields
Partner with data analysts and data scientists to understand data consumption use cases and patterns
Define and enforce data contracts, SLAs and quality gates to ensure data quality , in collaboration with data and business stakeholders
Provide support, coaching, tooling, and patterns — you are the technical enabler, not a gatekeeper.
Scale the Team as We Grow
Identify hiring needs, build and develop a team of data engineers to ensure data scales to support business growth
Location
Casablanca, Morocco or remote in EMEA with willingness to travel up 25% of the time.
