We are building a Muslim-centered application and are looking for a highly capable engineer to join our team.
This role requires both strong technical execution and deep contextual understanding of Arabic language and Islamic principles. You will work closely with our AI engineers and other software engineers to improve model behavior, assist with fine-tuning, prompting, and domain adaptation.
This is not a research role. You should be able to lead and hit the ground running.
This is not a “just prompt engineering” role.
This is not Junior/mid-level position.
What you will do
Develop backend services using Node.js/NestJs
Work closely with the AI engineer on:
– Prompt engineering
– Dataset refinement
– Model behavior evaluation
– Domain-specific improvements
– Fine-tuning preparation
Review and validate Arabic language outputs
Ensure Islamic concepts are represented correctly and responsibly
Use AI coding tools (Cursor, Claude, etc.) effectively in development workflows
Rapidly iterate on MVP features
Required knowledge
Strong understanding of Arabic language (reading and writing fluency required)
Solid foundational knowledge of Islamic principles and terminology
Ability to identify incorrect or inappropriate Islamic references in AI outputs
Sensitivity to religious and cultural nuances
Technical requirement
Expert-level Node.js
Strong understanding of REST APIs and backend architecture
Docker eco-system
AWS
Very comfortable using: Cursor, Anthropic Claude Code (or other Agentic tools)
Comfortable with prompt engineering
Familiarity with LLM behavior and model limitations
Nice to have
Experience with AI fine-tuning workflows
Experience with Hugging Face / Transformers
Experience building AI-first products

What’s in it for you & how we work
This is a half-time/part-time position but for the right person we can make it a full-time in future.
We are fully remote team. Great place if you are solo-contributor.
We are flexible on compensation (estimated full-time range: 40,000 EGP – 90,000 EGP depending on your skills and experience level).
Flexible schedule; we care more about quality and output than when and how you do the work (we do have team meetings every other day and as necessary – usually EST time late evenings)
Interview process
Step one: a screening call (tech + behavioral).
Step two: a take home exercise (ideally should be able to complete within 2-4 hrs.
Step three: final interview reviewing the take home exercise and group discussion.
