Role Description The Credentialing Specialist is a full-time remote role responsible for managing provider credentialing and payer enrollment for Go Physical Therapy NY. Day-to-day tasks include preparing and submitting credentialing applications, maintaining accurate provider records, and verifying licenses, certifications, and malpractice coverage. The specialist will track application status, resolve discrepancies, and communicate with insurance payers, Medicare, and other entities to ensure timely approval and continued participation. This role also involves working closely with clinical and administrative staff to gather required documentation, support compliance with regulatory standards, and address credentialing-related questions from internal stakeholders. The Credentialing Specialist is expected to manage deadlines, maintain organized documentation, and contribute to efficient practice operations.
Qualifications
Strong credentialing and medical staff credentialing skills, including experience with payer enrollment and provider verification.
Knowledge of Medicare and other insurance requirements, with ability to interpret and apply relevant regulations and guidelines.
Effective communication and customer service skills for interacting with payers, providers, and internal teams in a professional manner.
High attention to detail and organizational skills for managing multiple applications, deadlines, and documentation simultaneously.
Prior experience in healthcare administration, physical therapy practices, or a similar medical environment preferred.
Proficiency with office and credentialing software, including spreadsheets, databases, and secure document management tools.
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, exercise sound judgment, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in healthcare administration, business, or a related field preferred; relevant experience may substitute.
