Job Title: Accounting Support for German and Austrian Entities
Purpose of the Job:
The candidate will support the accounting department of our German and Austrian entities (2 entities) and collaborate with other CWT departments to ensure compliance with CWT internal policies regarding approval matrix, invoice booking, cash application, and cash collection.
The candidate will also be responsible for local statutory activities (in Germany and Austria), but will be supported by local external firms for these tasks.
Job Description:
Accounting Services Delivery: Ensure that accounting services are delivered in accordance with established processes, work procedures, and in compliance with company policies, Financial Reporting Compliance (FRC) requirements, and local legal and statutory requirements.
Accounting Integration & Transition: Be responsible for ensuring the orderly integration, stabilization, and transition of accounting activities.
Daily Accounting Operations: Manage all aspects of daily accounting operations such as invoice processing & payments, cash & banking from integration to successful completion of transition to shared service centres.
Monthly Closing Process: Participate in the monthly closing process and ensure relevant information is properly provided to the Group accounting team in an accurate, complete, and timely manner.
Work Prioritization & Assignment: Prioritize, balance, and assign work to Accounting Analysts, who may be remote or part of an outsourced service provider.
Collaboration with Treasury Team: Work closely with the Treasury team on banking-related matters.
Control Environment: Operate an effective control environment and perform reviews to ensure the quality of work performed, including timely completion of account reconciliations, reviewing aging, and resolving issues identified.
Outsourcing Service Provider Management: Govern the delivery of services provided by Outsource Service Providers in accordance with the contract, ensuring adherence to service levels, service quality, and costs.
Internal Control Structure: Enforce and enhance the internal control structure and ensure compliance with control objectives.
Compliance with Policies & Statutory Requirements: Ensure department systems and procedures are in compliance with company policies and local statutory requirements.
Audit Support: Provide support as required for internal and external audits.
Ad-Hoc Project Support: Support and drive ad-hoc projects or assigned responsibilities as required.
The Successful Applicant:
Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in an accounting function.
Outsourced Team Oversight: Ability to oversee work performed by an outsourced team and communicate effectively in English.
Educational Qualifications: A university degree in accounting or business administration, or Chartered, Certified, or Certified Professional Accountant designation is accepted.
Accounting Knowledge: In-depth knowledge and understanding of accounting principles and other accounting functions, with familiarity in ERP systems.
Language Proficiency: Ability to speak, read, and write in both German and English.
Team Player: Must be a team worker with the ability to collaborate effectively with various departments and stakeholders.
Autonomous Work Ability: Ability to work autonomously from home.
Knowledge of GAAP: Knowledge of German & Austrian GAAP is appreciated.
