Role Description The Field Services Engineer role is a full-time remote position responsible for supporting customers and partners with technical services related to K Line Europe GmbH products and equipment. Day-to-day tasks include installing, configuring, and commissioning systems, performing preventive maintenance, and diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues.
The role involves providing timely technical support via remote channels and occasional on-site visits, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal performance of equipment.
The Field Services Engineer collaborates closely with internal teams to escalate complex issues, document service activities, and contribute to continuous improvement of service processes. This position requires effective communication with all department’s, clear reporting, and a strong focus on service quality and customer satisfaction.
Qualifications
Install and commission new production equipment, covering mechanical, electrical, and controls/software integration.
Perform diagnostics, troubleshooting, and repair of electrical and electronic systems, including PLCs, HMIs, sensors, drives, and wiring.
Configure, update, and troubleshoot equipment software/firmware and control parameters.
Coordinate with Facilities and suppliers during equipment qualification (IQ/OQ/PQ), where applicable.
Read and interpret electrical schematics, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
Maintain accurate documentation of installations, repairs, and calibration records.
Support root cause analysis for equipment downtime and recommend corrective actions.
Strong Field Service experience, including on-site and remote support for technical equipment and systems.
Proficiency in Troubleshooting and Technical Support to diagnose, analyze, and resolve hardware and software issues.
Experience with Preventive Maintenance practices to ensure reliability, safety, and optimal performance of equipment.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering (or a related field).
7–10 years of experience in industrial equipment installation, commissioning, or repair.
Experience with automated/robotic manufacturing lines.
Familiarity with SCADA/MES systems.
Excellent Customer Service skills, with the ability to communicate clearly, build trust, and manage expectations.
Relevant technical education (e.g., degree or vocational training in engineering, electronics, mechatronics, or related field).
Ability to work independently in a remote setting, manage priorities, and document service activities accurately.
Fluent in English communication skills; additional European languages are an advantage.
Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe as required for on-site service assignments.
Familiarity with medical devices or regulated manufacturing environments (CE, FDA, ISO13485) is a plus.
Strong hands-on expertise in electrical systems, including power and control circuits, PLC, and HMI.
Working knowledge of equipment software/firmware configuration and troubleshooting.
Ability to read and interpret technical and electrical drawings and manuals.
Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently.
