Job Description

Prepare accurate cost estimates for Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) packages, including loose furniture, built-in furniture, decorative lighting, accessories, soft furnishings, artwork, and interior décor by analyzing project drawings, specifications, BOQs, and vendor quotations to support the sales and tendering process.

 

Roles & Responsibilities

Study tender documents, drawings, BOQs, and specifications related to FF&E packages.
Identify the project scope, including loose furniture, built-in furniture, decorative lighting, artwork, accessories, and other interior furnishings.
Perform quantity take-offs from drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
Prepare material and product take-offs for FF&E items.
Obtain quotations from local and international suppliers, manufacturers, and vendors.
Calculate product costs, freight, customs duties, installation, logistics, and other associated project costs.
Coordinate with suppliers to obtain technical and commercial proposals.
Liaise with procurement, design, and project teams to validate specifications and pricing.
Prepare detailed cost sheets, estimation summaries, and pricing comparisons.
Support the preparation of commercial offers and tender submissions.
Provide value engineering alternatives while maintaining design intent and project quality.
Maintain updated cost databases for FF&E products, suppliers, and market pricing.
Required Skills

Strong knowledge of Furniture, Fixtures & Equipment (FF&E) products and specifications.
Ability to read architectural, interior design, and furniture layout drawings.
Strong BOQ preparation and quantity take-off skills.
Good understanding of costing, pricing, procurement, and commercial evaluation.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Strong analytical, coordination, and communication skills.
Preferred Technical Knowledge

Furniture manufacturing and procurement processes.
Loose and fixed furniture specifications.
Decorative lighting, rugs, curtains, artwork, accessories, and interior décor.
International and local FF&E sourcing and vendor management.
Logistics, shipping, customs, installation, and project delivery processes.
Value engineering techniques for FF&E packages.
Software Knowledge

AutoCAD
Microsoft Excel (Advanced)
ERP systems such as SAP or similar
Estimation software
Microsoft Office Suite
Experience

3–7 years of experience in FF&E estimation, interior fit-out, hospitality projects, furniture procurement, interior contracting, or furniture manufacturing.

 

Education

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Interior Design, Architecture, Civil Engineering, Industrial Design, Furniture Design, or a related discipline.
