Job Title: Junior Technical Sales Manager – C&I BESS
Location: Cairo, Egypt, Damascus, Syria and Baghdad/Basrah/Irbil, Iraq
Reports to: Head of Sales – C&I, ME
Job Summary:
The Junior Technical Sales Manager – C&I BESS supports the commercial development and technical sales activities for commercial and industrial (C&I) Battery Energy Storage Systems in [Egypt/Iraq/Syria]. The role combines technical understanding with commercial execution and is responsible for supporting the full sales lifecycle, including opportunity qualification, technical proposal preparation, customer engagement, and coordination with internal teams.
This position is ideal for candidates with early career experience in power systems, renewable energy, or energy storage who aim to develop into senior commercial roles within the energy transition sector.
The role requires close collaboration with cross-functional teams including engineering, product management, project delivery, finance, and marketing to deliver tailored energy storage solutions aligned with customer needs and company strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Technical Sales Support
Support the sales team in developing technical solutions for C&I BESS projects including:
Peak shaving and energy optimization
PV + storage hybrid solutions
Backup power and resilience applications
Grid services for commercial clients
Assist in preparing technical proposals, system configurations, and commercial offers.
Participate in technical discussions with customers, EPCs, consultants, and distributors.
Support preparation of technical documentation, presentations, and bid submissions.
Sales & Business Development Support
Assist in identifying and qualifying new opportunities within commercial and industrial sectors.
Support relationship management with EPC partners, installers, developers, and distributors.
Participate in early customer engagement to understand project requirements and technical constraints.
Support contract preparation and internal approval workflows.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
Work closely with:
Pre-sales and engineering teams for technical solution development
Product management for system compatibility and roadmap alignment
Project delivery teams to ensure smooth handover from sales to execution
Marketing teams for customer engagement activities and events
Provide feedback to internal stakeholders regarding customer requirements and market trends.
Market Research & Technical Development
Stay updated on BESS technologies, C&I energy market trends, and regional regulatory developments.
Support market intelligence activities including competitor analysis and pricing benchmarks.
Assist in development of sales tools, technical guidelines, and internal knowledge resources.
Reporting & Documentation
Maintain accurate CRM records of opportunities, customer interactions, and technical proposals.
Support pipeline tracking, forecasting, and reporting activities.
Ensure compliance with internal processes and quality standards.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy, or related technical field.
2–5 years of experience in technical sales, engineering, or business development within power systems, solar PV, energy storage, or related sectors.
Basic understanding of C&I energy applications and distributed energy systems.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
