Job Overview

You’ll play a crucial role in supporting a high-volume client portfolio where every day brings variety and growth opportunities. This position offers excellent exposure to different business models and accounting scenarios, making it ideal for a bookkeeper looking to expand their experience while working with cutting-edge accounting software. You’ll handle everything from routine monthly bookkeeping to complex tax season preparation, with the flexibility to work on both straightforward and challenging client accounts.

 

Job Highlights

Hourly Rate: The equivalent of $5.00 USD per hour in the applicant’s local currency

Schedule: 40+ hrs/week – Work Schedule Mon–Fri, Flexible hours CST

Work Arrangement: Work from home

Contract: Independent Contractor

 

Side Note: Since this is a permanent work-from-home position and the arrangement is that of an “Independent Contractor,” the selected candidates must have their own computer and internet connection. They will handle their own benefits and taxes. The professional fees are on hourly rates and the rate depends on your performance in the application process.

 

Responsibilities

Manage bookkeeping and account reconciliation for 80-120 client companies using Xero and QuickBooks
Process and categorize bank statements, transferring data into customized Excel classification templates
Prepare straightforward tax forms using Pro Series software for companies with minimal income
Create and maintain profit and loss statements using established company templates and classification systems
Handle high-volume tax preparation tasks during tax season (preparation only, not filing)
Reconcile accounts and record financial transactions across diverse client industries
Classify business transactions into appropriate categories including cost of goods sold, telephone expenses, and other standard business categories
Support annual accounting workflows with data transfer and template management

Requirements

Proven experience with Xero and QuickBooks bookkeeping software
Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data processing and template management
Solid understanding of account reconciliation and financial transaction recording
Experience with US-based company accounting standards and practices
Ability to handle high-volume work with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy
Bonus if you’re bilingual in English and Spanish
It helps if you have experience with Pro Series tax software or similar tax preparation platforms
